OUR IDEALS
Vision
Our Vision is a boutique practice of community lawyers, planners, and strategists serving nonprofits, municipal governments, small businesses, and individual clients.
Mission
Our Mission is to provide legal and consulting services to our clients; and to build, support, and advance resilient, sustainable, and equitable communities.
Values
Our Core Values are rooted in the highest quality standards, professional ethics, and community service. We are deeply committed to social, environmental, economic, and racial justice. To this end, we serve on the Assigned Counsel Panel, and do pro bono (free) and low bono (reduced rate) work. We are open to bartering for professional services, and we offer sliding scale and limited engagement opportunities because we believe everyone deserves the right to excellent legal counsel regardless of economic limitations.
LAW TEAM

ATTORNEY FEES
Flat Fees
Whenever possible, we will discuss and scope your project, and propose a flat fee.
Retainers
For more in depth consulting or longer-term access to legal services such as outside general counsel services, we offer monthly retainer agreements or a subscription fee that ensures you access to a minimum number of hours.
Hourly Fees
Our sliding scale depends on your household size, income, and project needs, or the fiscal reality of your business, nonprofit, or municipality, as well as our availability at any given time. We also provide pro bono and low bono services in certain situations.
Contingency
Certain matters such as civil rights, torts, debt collection, and others may be done on contingency for an agreed upon percent of the recovered or awarded funds. We also often do a hybrid fee, with a some legal fees and costs paid by the client up to an agreed upon amount, and then future fees based on contingency.
Flexibility
We believe in mutual aid, not just services for dollars. We have bartered legal services for fresh vegetables from an organic farm, youth programming for my children, and even for this very website! If you would like to know about bartering options, please contact me.
